Sunset Near Home
I took this a few days ago, near my home in Southern California. The sunset is beautiful on its own and was wonderfully supplemented by the music that I was listening to on my iPod–The Wailin’ Jennys, Crooked Still, The Goat Rodeo Sessions, and The Head and The Heart, to name a few.
I love The Wailin’ Jennys and The Head and The Heart!
They are great bands! I really like a lot of folk and bluegrass music; heck, they are why I decided to learn how to play the banjo (a work in progress).
To be honest, though, a lot of the music that I have and enjoy I have learned about from listening to A Prairie Home Companion, which is where I first heard of The Wailin’ Jennys.
I love folk music! I started with the Civil Wars and I’ve been branching out from there. No judgment about how you find your music – I find all my bands through Pandora and what plays at my local small concert venue.
I love the Civil Wars, too! Pandora has been really helpful over the years, especially when I cannot explain exactly what I like about a song. The ability to fine tune a channel’s sound profile allows you to find bands you never would have heard of otherwise, and then go find more music by them. I’ve done that several times.
Yes, it is amazing. I have a station I’ve been fine-tuning for a couple years that I love.
